“I look forward to applying the skills, judgment and knowledge of the inner workings of the justice system that I gained while working as a prosecutor on behalf of the firm’s clients when the stakes are high," Hayes said in a statement.

79彩票注册网址Hayes has been with the U.S. attorney's office for 16 years, taking over the criminal division in 2016 and overseeing cases in public corruption and organized crime, securities and commodities fraud, and national security and cyber crimes.

His most high-profile cases of late include the prosecution against state Sen. Tom Cullerton, who was indicted in August on embezzlement charges. Hayes also led the indictment against former Outcome Health executives accused of a massive wire-fraud scheme in an attempt to defraud customers.

"Brian is an experienced and skilled prosecutor and an excellent addition to our white-collar defense team,” Christopher Kelly, head of Holland & Knight’s litigation section, said in a statement. “He is uniquely equipped to engage with regulators and law enforcement on our clients’ most sensitive matters and distinctly qualified to litigate those that cannot be resolved.”

Hayes last day at the U.S. attorney's office was Dec. 31.
