    "INTIMATE APPAREL"
    March 12-April 19 | Northlight Theatre

In addition to her focus on the humanity of the marginalized, playwright Lynn Nottage has a cottage industry of collecting awards, including a MacArthur "genius" grant and Pulitzers for her plays "Ruined" and "Sweat." She'd won a handful earlier, but the hardware amassment ratcheted up after her 2003 play about an African American seamstress in 1905 New York, based on Nottage's own great-grandmother. The play, produced around the country about as often as people change underwear, hasn't been seen in the Chicago area for five years.

    "DECADANCE/CHICAGO"
March 12-15 | Hubbard Street Dance Chicago at Harris Theater

As an alternative to the electric-greenifying decadence of the Chicago St. Patrick's Day festivities, Hubbard Street's presents the choreography of Ohad Naharin, excerpted from his catalog and reassembled every 10 years—deca- + dance. An also numerically named work appearing in the suite is "Minus 16," a semi-improvisatory (and selectively participatory) work using Naharin's movement method, Gaga, to create a now-classic piece that Hubbard Street premiered in the United States in 2000.

    APOLLO'S FIRE
    March 12, 7:30 p.m. | Galvin Hall, Northwestern University

79彩票注册网址This baroque orchestra, aptly named because its interpretations tend more toward the lambently passionate than the more antiseptic baroque conjured by wigs and face powder, pulls its chariot up for a program called "" with Jewish, Christian, Arab and Armenian music and poetry. The concert inaugurates a pattern of semiannual local visits of the group, timed not to crash like an unprepared dissonance with the other baroque groups in town, next hitting Ravinia in July. It's also a home-court concert for baritone Jeffrey Strauss, who is also a full-time lawyer at Mayer Brown.
